Prepare
- Before we begin, ensure you have all the necessary equipment.
- Secure any nearby trees or bushes and mask up edges adjoining to surfaces not included in the project.
- Remove any debris or leaves by raking the ground around the fence.
- Give your fence a decent clean to ensure it's free from any dirt or cobwebs.
- Finally, lay down a drop sheet to shield the ground from paint overspray.

Paint
- Give your can of Wattyl Solagard a thorough stir before and during use.
- To prep the paint for spraying, pour your paint into a container and top up with up 10% water (maximum)
- Mix the water and paint solution well before use.
- For an efficient and smooth application were going to use a spray gun to apply.
- Before you get stuck into the fence, test out the spray gun on a piece of cardboard first this will get you comfortable with the machine and ensure youve got the correct technique.
- Begin by spraying top to bottom, ensuring you cover all surfaces evenly, working your way across the fence. Keep a consistent distance from the fence the entire time.
- For the tight spaces between the palings, turn your nozzle so the pressure is more direct.
- Apply the paint generously into the gaps between the palings to ensure thorough coverage.
- After allowing the first coat to dry for 2 hours, apply a second coat* evenly for added protection.
- Once you've finished painting, remember to clean all equipment using water, away from drains and waterways.

Solagard is touch dry in 30 minutes and can be recoated after 2 hours. Figures are quoted at 25°C and 50% humidity. Drying will take longer at lower temperatures or higher humidity.
