Prepare
- First, make sure you have all the right equipment for the job.
- Get your area ready by giving the surface and surrounding area a wash to remove any dirt.
- Mask off any areas you dont want to get paint on, and lay down drop sheets to further protect surrounding surfaces.
- Next, scrape off any loose paint and sand the surface using 180-grit sandpaper and a hand sander or block.
- Fill any cracks with exterior grade render filler, allow to dry before sanding.
- Then brush or rinse off all the sanding dust and let it dry completely.

Paint
- Give your Wattyl Solagard a thorough stir.
- We'll be using a brush to cut in, and a roller for the larger areas of this project.
- Cut in around all edges and features using your brush.
- Then depending on your space, use a roller to paint from top to bottom, overlapping slightly with each stroke working in a slight W pattern. It's important to lay off your paint by rolling.
- Allow the first coat to dry for 2 hours, then apply a second coat* evenly for added protection.
- When you are done, clean your equipment with water, avoiding drains and waterways.

Solagard is touch dry in 30 minutes and can be recoated after 2 hours. Figures are quoted at 25°C and 50% humidity. Drying will take longer at lower temperatures or higher humidity.
